Terms of Service

1.Service Description

Gamebook Creator is a free online tool for creating and reading interactive gamebooks (choose-your-own-adventure style stories).

2.Acceptance

By using this service and logging in — whether by creating an account or through single sign-on — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

3.User Accounts

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• One account per person.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

4.Your Content

• You retain full ownership of the gamebooks and content you create.
• By publishing content on Gamebook Creator, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and distribute your content on the platform — this license ends when you delete your content or account.
• You're responsible for ensuring your content doesn't infringe on others' copyrights or intellectual property.

5.Prohibited Use

• Illegal, harmful, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory content.
• Content that infringes on copyrights or trademarks.
• Automated scraping, bots, or abuse of the service.
• Attempting to access other users' accounts or private data.

6.Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion, without prior notice.

7.Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through your account settings. When you delete your account, your books where you are the sole author will be permanently deleted. For books where you are the owner with co-authors, you must first transfer ownership or delete those books before account deletion. For co-authored books where you are not the owner, you will be removed as a co-author.

8.Disclaimers

• The service is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied.
• We do not guarantee the service will be available at all times, free from errors, or that your data will be preserved.
• Data may be lost due to hardware failure, software bugs, security incidents, or other unforeseen circumstances. We are not responsible for any data loss.
• You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of any content you consider important.

9.Service Termination

• We may discontinue the service at any time, for any reason.
• If we plan to shut down, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice so you can export your content.
• After the service is terminated, all data may be permanently deleted.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

11.Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll note the "Last Updated" date at the top.

12.Comments

Gamebook Creator allows users to post comments on published gamebooks. By posting a comment, you agree to the following:

• Comments must not contain offensive, hateful, harassing, or discriminatory language.
• Comments are screened for prohibited language before posting. Comments containing blocked terms will be rejected.
• You may edit your comments within 5 minutes of posting. After that, comments cannot be edited but can be deleted.
• Other users may report comments that violate these terms. Reported comments are reviewed by moderators.
• Your display name is shown alongside your comments. If you delete your account, your comments are anonymized (display name replaced with "Deleted User") but the comment text remains.

13.Content Moderation

• We employ automated content screening (word-level blocklist) and human moderation to enforce community standards.
• Comments that receive multiple reports may be automatically hidden pending moderator review.
• Moderators may hide or remove comments, and may suspend books that violate these terms.
• Suspended books are hidden from public listings until the author addresses the issue and the book is reinstated by a moderator.

14.Content Ratings

• Authors must assign a content rating to their book before publishing: Everyone (suitable for all audiences) or Mature (may contain mature themes or language).
• Mature-rated books display a warning banner to readers.
• Misrating content (e.g., labeling mature content as "Everyone") may result in content moderation action, including book suspension.

15.AI-Assisted Content

Gamebook Creator offers optional AI-powered writing assistance that can rephrase or generate paragraph content based on your instructions. When you use this feature:

• Your paragraph text and instructions are sent to an AI language model for processing.
• AI-generated content is provided as a suggestion — you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and accepting any output before it becomes part of your gamebook.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or appropriateness of AI-generated content.
• You retain full ownership of all content in your gamebook, whether written by you or generated with AI assistance.

16.Third-Party Services

Gamebook Creator uses third-party services such as Google and Microsoft for single sign-on authentication. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or practices of any third-party service.

17.Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or content you create, including but not limited to copyright infringement or violation of these terms.

18.Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Israel.

19.Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
